Mascot costume for the launch of Nerds Gummy Cluster for a university advertisement tour. This animatronic suit had to be lightweight for the actor to wear for long stints. The face made was with silicone and ‘nerds’ formed with clay turned into a mould and then made with an expanding lightweight flexible foam. These individual sheets were then formed together to create the body. I helped with fitting the sheets to create the structure whilst still being able to move for walking and helped create the mechanism to allow the foot to be removable for access as well as working with a team to painstakingly hand paint each individual nerd.
